I had the Conair $20 one and it actually worked great when I first got it, but it burned out after a couple of months. I want a really good straightener and I don't care how much it costs, I just want something dependable. Any suggestions? FYI, I am caucasian and my hair is very thick and wavy, and frizzes easily.

The ones by CHI are like $100 my stylist sweared by it so much that I had to get it myself. What makes it so great is that

A. It's ceramic plates and B. It's steam not thermal heat that straighten your hair. It's absolutely wonderful I had the conair one too but I would have to go over each section like 2 or 3 time to get it to my desired level of straightness. With CHI I over it only once. Worth every penny. You can find it on drugstore.com. Here is the link to the CHI Flat Irons. http://www.drugstore.com/search/search.asp?searchtype=1&trx=28198&trxp1=11936&ipp=20&srchtree=1&search=CHI+Flat+Irons

I have a Revlon straightener with ceramic plates. It cost about $18. It's the second one I've had. My first one lasted about 4 years, until my daughter pulled it in the toilet. It works really well (I also have thick wavy hair) and has several heat settings. I know you can get one at Walmart or Target.

$20 straighteners are unhealthy for your hair. I got a CHI off of ebay for $26. Get a CHI or GHD on ebay.

CHI straighteners are the best... They are pricey, but you get what you pay for.... They are really good for frizzy hair too cause its got ceramic plates... They heat up really fast too, you'll definitly like a CHI
