I think AlQaeda members think they are practicing Islam, or else they just have such violence and hatred in their hearts that they really don't care. But they ARE destroying Islam's image, whether they have set out to do so or not. They sure are not helping their cause, whatever that is.

i am not sure what alQaeda's target it, but the perception seems to be what you have asked...or maybe to first turn all Moslems into carbon copies of themselves, then try to do the same to the rest of the world, through terrorism and violence.
Isaac Asimov said, "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent." I tend to agree with that.

There goal is to establish a world caliphate. First they want to force the US to stop its support for Israel. Get US military out of middle east. Destroy Israel. Then Keep going till everything ruled by Islam. Thanks to 9/11 we are doing the exact opposite of what they want.

Who the hell knowswhat al qaeda's real target is. i suspect their paln is to force people to live by their interpretation of the quran, which is based on violence.
