the best one was a gift from my deceased wife. the first Christmas we went together she gave me a white and black Scottish dog set with magnets. she put them together with a note saying this was like us - neither one was good without the other.

My husband and my kids served me breakfast in bed, and they made me cards that said: To the best wife and mom, we love you. Family time......the best gift anyone could want.

Salvation FIRST, of course!
Secondly, Last year for Christmas, our girls and their hubbies got together and really surprised me and their Dad. Everyone celebrated over at our place, so the place was crawling with gifts, (mostly for my granddaughter who was 2yrs old at the time). My eldest daughter told me she had bought my granddaughter a "dora the explorer" kitchen set and pointed to a very large brightly wrapped box. On Christmas morning, everyone decided it would be great fun to see her open the biggest gift first, and they wanted "Granny" to help. You could've blown me over with a feather when it was opened, and it was in fact a BEAUTIFUL, rustic electric fireplace/heater! Everyone was snapping pictures madly at the time it dawned on me that they had "pulled a fast one"! It was sneaky, and precious, and I adore them for their conniving little ways....LOL! Merry Christmas!

My family always lived far away from our extended family (arkansas to alaska) and my grandmother made a quilt for my brother and I when we were in HS. I still sleep with it to this day.
