If you work in turkey, your employer will pay contributions to SSK. This is like NI in UK. You will then receive an SSK card, with this you can obtain the booklet that permits you to use state hospitals for no charge and SSK contributions will enable you to draw a pension.
In reality, most people who can, choose not to use state hospitals. If you can afford it, you should obtain private healthcare. This is readily obtainable in Turkey or UK health insurance schemes are normally accepted in private Turkish hospitals.
The private hospitals are excellent, surgery and diagnosis is easily as good as in the UK. However, if staying in a hospital, do not expect nursing care to be as complete as in the UK - you are expected to have a companion staying with you for day to day (non-medical) care.

If you work in Turkey & pay your taxes you can use the Gonenment hospital after 6 months.
If you just live here then you haver use a private hospital. If your Turkish then they seem expensive but realy by UK stanards there cheap compared to UK private care & theres no waiting lists, you get treatmant straight away.
eg. to have a baby here in hospital it costs about £1,000, A tummy tuck about the same. Dental care is about a quarter of the cost in the UK too & they are very good, I have heard people say they fall asleep here in the chair because they are so good.
Medication is very cheap too, antibiotics are about £3 & you dont need a prescription, most medication you buy over the counter, only sleeping pills & antidepressants need a prescription

There are 3 main health guarantee services in Türkiye:
-SSK is for the employees that the employers pay the fees,
-BAGKUR is for the employers or self-bosses,
-EMEKLI SANDIGI is for the govn officials that the govn pay the fees.

When you visit a govn hospital, 1st of all they ask your health guarantee. If you dont have any guarantee you have to pay it yourself. Now a days the govn hospitals are better than the past but of corz the private hospitals are better with your money!!!

If you are a working Turkish, you become a member of assurance, governement provides it.And because of this, you don't pay to the hospitals. But you must go to a hospital who accepts that assurance for not paying..If you are not, you may go to private hospital..They are better than government hospitals but they are expensive..
