Hi. Buy a book called SPANISH IN THREE MONTHS.(HUGO)..it is a really good book and it did teach me Spanish in three months...I studied for an hour a day and also watched Spanish TV. Find some Spanish friends as well and don't be shy to speak the "lingo". Good luck!

Try to do everything in Spanish, even talk with your dog . Dedicate your time at Internet to places where you can use this language, but take care, its better use sites from schools or other trusty source of information. If you have some money, take some VIP classes with a native teacher can be useful. Movies, songs( I know, its hard to find some interesting...) culinary or fishing books, and so on, EN ESPAÑOL-its all part of new routine now. I hope it help you!

Take classes at college. Read children books in Spanish, the vocabulary is simple but it will help you. Watch the news in Spanish, NOT the novelas (soap opera). Buy music in Spanish, you will be impress how fast you can learn with music.
Que tengas buena suerte!

The most effective way (in my opinion) to learn spanish or any other language is to listen to it constantly, be around people who speak it, listen to spanish music, watch spanish movies, TV shows etc..... Thats how I learned english and Italian.

My advice would be to travel if that is possible...being immersed in the language is the best way to be sure that you learn well. I have been in Panama for about 2 years and have learned more than i ever would by books or whatnot. It really helps!!!

Take a class at your local college. I tried CD's, books, videos all that, but they didn't work for me either. I've now almost finished one semester of spanish at my local Jr. college, and I've learned a lot. Good luck!
