Dear,
Format the drive u own u r XP a the moment. Try reinstalling it. No earlier files will be found. and it would work superb. Believe and try to do so once. Dont forget to backup all u r important files on some secondary storage such as CD or Pendrive.
Try this and u r Nero6 would work fine.

I'm not an expert, but I always thought you had to reinstall all your programs once you put in a new operating system. Programs integrate with Windows, so I wouldn't be surprised if you had to reinstall any programs you had before you installed XP.

The ASPI is something that Nero is supposed to install with Windows, when you install Nero.

If you really need to reinstall Nero, then do that.

If you just need the driver, go to:
http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/ASPI_Driver.html

If you install the driver, and Nero still doesn't work, then you need to reinstall Nero.

As far as your other programs, I would think you would have to reinstall them, but don't take my word for it.

As far as the defrag, blue is good, right? So you're saying it's defragged but it's still slow. Sometimes if your hard drive is very full it can slow you down. You do need a firewall up at all times, along with an active anti-virus, and a spyware scanner. Viruses and other nasty stuff can slow down your pc greatly too.
