NEVER

2006-12-05 06:46:10 · answer #1 · answered by Matthew 2 · 1 0

I wouldn't ever give it to my child. Especially a baby. For what? I have an infant now, but even my other kids, ages 5 and 10 never drink soda. They drink mostly water or milk, and at dinner I give them juice. The only time they ever get soda would be if we go out to eat or something. But if they are under 2 or 3, no way. Kids are obese and have cavaties because of soda and parents who aren't teaching them what is healthy eating and what is not.

If you can keep a child from drinking soda it is best. But my little girl had problems with her stomach and I gave her root beer before she was 5 months old. But after 5 years of age is best. and then only caffinee free soda.

Well, I'd like to say never, but I guess I must be realistic. If you put soda in a bottle or a sippie cup, when the chid drops it, it spews everywhere like crazy lol. I guess I probably let my kids start getting sprite with their kids meals from fast food places around 3 or 4. But, I'm not suggesting it, there are plenty other options that are much healthier for them.

I wouldn't give my child soda until he or she is at least 9 or 10.

I don't know if there is a proper age. I would guess from the age 9.

Never! It's a bad habit to get a child into! Soda is not good for us and it should be a "special treat" (if that), not something that is consumed regularly. It rots your teeth, and the carbonic acid it contains is not good at all for our insides. I mean, carbonic acid can dissolve limestone for crying out loud! So if it dissolves rock, just imagine what it does to your stomach. Anyhow, I wouldn't give my kid soda at all. Instead, teach him/her healthy eating habits at a young age by giving them water and juice.

I never got into drinking soda... I have had less than 3 cans of soda in my entire life.

I have no health problems and I have very good dental health.

Once you give your kids soda, they wont want anything else because of the sugar and cafeen...

Give them milk, water, and juice... and you will have healthier kids.

Never. There is nothing good about soda.
A replacement could be some juice mixed with naturally sparkling water like Perrier (tastes much better & healthy too!)

My daughter didnt get to drink it until she was about 6/7.And then it was only on holidays as a treat, she drunk alot of water as a small child. The odd glass of milk and juice,i dont know if it was because she didnt get to drink soda alot. But i think its been about 2 years since she last had a soda, and at 16 she now thanks me that i never gave it to her, like most of her friends mums use to give it to them. She drink water like its going out of style......and thats good.

My stepmother started giving my youngest brother soda, in a baby bottle, as soon as he was weaned. One of his first words was "pepsi." As a result he had four cavities before he turned five. Likewise, my mother never let me near soda until my age was in double digits (although she drank it a lot herself) and I was an adult before I got my first cavity.

Nothing wrong with soda period, I love it, but don't give anything with that much sugar to a small child.

I was allowed small amounts starting at like age 3. but i believe that had i just been given water, i wouldnt be overweight and addicted to the stuff now. so with that i would say wait till the child is older and even then limit it for as long as you can.
