Ok, so I'm almost 18, and I like this girl who's almost 22. She's really major flirted with me. Sat in my lap, cuddled. And she said she usually knows guys real well before she does that. No kissing, though. I've told her I like her, and she didn't really say it was bad. She just thought that the age difference was a little big, and I wasn't 18 yet. She still flirts with me a little, though not as much as that one time. I asked her if she liked me, and she said as a friend, which was not likely to change, but my friends that have seen the two of us together, think she really likes me. And one friend even thought we were together. So, I don't know. I'm confused by her. I was told by a friend to wait untill after I turn 18 to do anything.

She did point me out to a friend she had with her, and her friend, a girl, mouthed the word cute back, but when I asked the girl I like what she said, she refused to answer.

We are both in college. And we will probably graduate in the same year.

I know she is a natural flirt, or at least says so, but I haven't seen her flirt with anyone else. She does talk about another boy, but I know there isn't anything there, really. And she does seem to want to spend more time with me and my friends, than her other friends. Her other friends are not the people that most people would hang out. I know she's pretty lonely, too, but not desperate or anything.

I know that me being just under 18 is probably the main reason she isn't really concidering me for a boyfriend right now.
And I kinda pushed her for an answer whether she liked me or not. So I really don't know if she just said that so I'd stop asking, or if she really meant it.

There is one slight complication, I just remembered. My parents aren't really into me dateing. I haven't yet. Would that, even if it were to change once I turned 18, be a reason for her not to think of me as a possibility for a boyfriend.

Well it's either one of three things...

1. She doesn't realise what she's doing
Sometimes our body language and behaviour gives out signals that we don't realise we're giving out. She's said she likes you AS A FRIEND. So, unless she's playing it cool, that's where you guys are at. But if she does know that she's doing then...

2. She's just playing you.
Some girls (mostly those who are insecure) flirt with guys either for fun to to reassure themselves that they're attractive. It seems to me just got the classic "giving out then pulling away" technique going on - she'll flirt, but not openly admit she likes you "that way", so it leaves you wanting that little bit more.

3. She really does like you, but wants to wait until you're 18.
But why? Intercourse etc is still legal for you, and does she really care that you'll be able to vote and get a mortgage?? It seems unlikely, but only time will tell.

It's a difficult situation you're in. If you really like her then you owe it to yourself to find out what's going on - a proper chat with her is the only way to sort it out. If she still won't give you straight answers, then get out and play the field - there's plenty of girls out there, so don't waste time going after one that's unattainable. hope this helps, and if you ever want a girls opinion on stuff then feel free to email me!! take care x

There are many reasons for a 22 year old to run from anyone under 18. The age difference is not that much. So yes you should wait till your 18 and see what develops from there. She may just be a big flirt and need attention. If nothing happens after you turn 18, you run the other way. She is a tease. Good Luck!

On the downside you may not like what you hear however, on the up side, stash it and refer to it when you think you need to.. you may save yourself a lot of grief in the future...
1) this girl is playing with you.. Some girls will do that... some do, some don't.. (read on)
2) since you are under "legal age" she would be looking at some serious jail time if she were to do anything with you now.. so maybe that's part of it.. don't know..
- You should definetly wait until being legal age with this girl.
3) learn to feel your instincts and then trust them...
- When some action makes you feel like this or that was going on, trust yourself.. this or that is exactly what was going on...
- good luck, hope I helped.

The girl is 4 years older than you. In her twenties no less! She's a senior in college. Your a senior in high school.

She sees you as a cute little boy, and it will be a long while before she can see you as anything else.

Don't get your feelings twisted over her. It won't pan out.

She already told you what she thinks. If you want to give it another try, then let her know that you're interested in getting together with her again. If she feels the same way, she'll let you know, otherwise, just be her friend.

,She is one big flirt and is probably enjoying teasing you. She has said that nothing will become of it, but she will still do it as long as you go along with it.If she is naturally flirty then i would give her a wide birth as its you that's going to get hurt, cause eventually she will move on to some one else.

Wait until your 18, maybe that's what she's doing. Ask her if she'll kiss you on your birthday.
