i think it is terrible what those people do. Christianity taught us to help people, not to give money to those people to take a slice out of it. Give money to charities that can actually give aid to people and people that need help who may be on your doorstep that you dont even realise need help.

Their scheme should actually be turned around 180 degrees. If THEY believe their teachings, then they should give away all they receive in donations to get all the more coming in to support their ministries.
A tithe is designed specifically for the local church. The preachers on TBN preach a false gospel. If Jesus told His followers that the poor would always be with them, then not everyone with the Apostles and Disciples was going to be wealthy. Spiritual richness they had. Worldly wealth escaped them.

Ah, the light dawns!!!
The reason? You seem to suggest that you know what Jesus and the Apostles taught. So, do you remember that they also taught that Satan has deceived the whole world? That God has not yet allowed them to see the truth? That there would be false Christs and false apostles and false ministers of light?
TBN is the essence of false Christianity. Turn off the tube and follow the Word of God.

I watch some of the programs on TBN, I like Juanita Bynum, John Hagee and A couple more. #0 or 40 years ago everyone thought you had to be poor to be a good Christian, things have changed. Air time and travel costs, and supplys for natural disasters costs a fortune.

Of course they are for real. They do real crimes and commit real affairs and damage the real truth of Christianity. However, they might do some marginal good. If they spark interest in Christ and send the seekers further along on their journey to Christ then that is a real good. I do believe that their name and claim it philosophy is false and harmful, but then when you have so many people who do not know even basic Christian doctrine what can you expect?

I may not agree with everything that they say, however, there are many charismas given to many preachers, all gifts from God to the faithful. If, some have a "prosperity" charisma than let it be so.
I doubt that Jesus was poor, but I don't believe that He handled the money.

When we love and trust in material things we rely on ourselves and not God, which makes it impossible to enter the kingdom of heaven. In fact, it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of an needle! Whether you possess a little or a lot of this world's possessions the only way to inherit eternal life is to completely submit your life to Jesus by obeying His commandments and use whatever you have to the glory of God. Do not let "one thing" stand between you and eternal life.

Very true. I've seen these TBN hucksters (they are right here in Southern California) since they were a local UHF station...
They embarrass the entire Body of Christ.

this may be true, however it is a way to reach those who may not ever have another way to hear the words from God spoken. Each person has a gift that he will use to reach someone. Just like everything else, you have to look past the bad, to get the good.
