Use a daily clarifying shampoo but only on your scalp. Or use a regular shampoo for oily hair daily and use the clarifying once a week. It really depends on how oily your scalp is. There will be enough shampoo running down your hair to adequately clean it. When using a conditioner, only apply it to the ends or as far up as your damage(try to keep it off your scalp)

To start with, a shampoo for normal hair is best because you're clearing your excess oils, but not stripping your ends. Then apply a super-moisturising conditioner to just your ends and rinse with cooler water. Do not use a product with alcohol on your scalp, because it'll just end up producing more oil!
The best thing to do for the ends of your hair is frequent trims of 1/4 inch. The healthier your ends are, the less dry they will feel. If you haven't had a trim for a year or so, like some people who're growing their hair out are wont to do, you need a big trim NOW! Also, if the dry, damaged ends are caused by too many heat-styling tools, use a lower heat setting or skip them for a few days, altogether.
If the dryness is being cause by haircolour, chances are you're doing it at home by yourself. Go to a professional and he/she can show you how to touch up your tint without frying your ends

Your shampoo might be too harsh on your hair and is stripping it of needed moisture. I would use a nice shampoo & conditioner that is not too harsh and then put on a leave in conditioner (only on the ends). I use bumble & bumble and that is pretty good. Also, I noticed using a product like frizz ease also seems to smooth out hair and make it soft all over. Lastly, if you ends are really bad you may just need to trim them and do the above to keep your new and healthy ends from getting brittle.

I use a shampoo called Aussie Dual Personality Root Cleanser + Tip Mender Shampoo.
It says..Got the greasies at the roots and the frazzles at the ends? Even them out!
It works great and isn't expensive either. I get it at Walmart or CVS. It is under $3 there.

I gave up and shaved my head. You should try it. It's much easier to deal with.
