What is a good dish that I can take to a Christmas breakfast party at work? I would like something that either can be made the night before, or easily made that morning that can travel and still taste good 1/2 an hour later.

Make muffins, they are fine done 24 hours in advance. Clementine and dried cranberry ones would be festive.

im from the islands and we always do "flan" its a cake that takes alot of work. it must be done the night before and left in the refrigitor overnight.
Ingredients :

4 large egg
1 cn (14 oz) condensed milk;
-sweetened
1 cn (12 oz.) evaporated milk
6 oz cream cheese
1 ts vanilla extract

Instructions

(1) Mix eggs, milk, and vanilla together.

(2) Soften the cream cheese and mix it together with the other ingredients.
Be careful not to over-mix the cream cheese or it will cause air pockets in
the flan.

(3) Prepare a caramel by cooking 1/2 cup of sugar over a low flame until
the sugar liquifies. Use a metal container to do this.

(4) Turn just enough caramel into the pan/ ramekin to cover the bottom.

(5) once the sugar is hard , pour the batter you prepared in steps 1 & 2
into the pan/ ramekin.

(6) place pan/ ramekin into a bain-marie. The pan/ ramekin in which the
ingredients are in should be 3/4 submerged in water.

(7) Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for about 1/2 hour. The flan is done
when a knife/ toothpick inserted into it comes out clean
(p.s. enjoy)

My mother has made this every Christmas morning for as long as i can remember! It can be made the night before and reheated in the morning, but like most items tastes better freshly cooked.

Take whatever size baking dish (13x9)
10 eggs (whisked together)
5 pieces of white bread (torn to smaller pieces)
3 cups of shredded cheddar (or any other hard cheese)
and your choice of other toppings.
we usually go with bacon (cooked) and mushrooms (canned).(to your preferred amount)
Mix all together in a bowl and fill well greased pan about
3/4 to the top leaving some room for expansion.
Bake at 350 for about 20-30 minutes.
Once the egg is fully cooked and the cheese has melted.

other suggestions
onion
sausage
peppers
tomatoes

Make a breakfast quiche, get a ready made pie shell or two depending on how many you are feeding 6 eggs in each, add any kind of meat and cheese or vegetables (cook bacon and or vegetables prior to mixing with eggs). Mix together whatever combo you choose bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes and done. This can be done the night before.

Pigs in a Blanket.
Wrap little smoked sausages in pieces of crescent rolls, bake for about 8-10 minutes at 375*F. If you make them the night before, you can warm them easily in the microwave for a few minutes the morning of. Presto. They're addictive.

Also, try this Sausage Cheese Wrap.
(It's better made that morning, but is easy to assemble if you prepare your filling mix the night before and store in fridge until ready to bake.)
Crumble and fry 1 lb. Pork Sausage (like Jimmy Dean, etc.) and a small onion (may be omitted) until the sausage is browned. Drain any extra grease and add 1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese. Mix well. (Store away if you do this the night before.)
Spread one refrigerated crescent roll pkg onto a piece of foil until flat, pressing together the seams to make one solid surface. In the center of the crescent rolls, long wise, spread the sausage mixture. On both sides of the sausage mixture, fold over the crescent roll to the center, forming a shell around the sausage mixture. Bake at 375*F for about 20-25 minutes.
Cut into pieces for serving.

Good luck and Merry Christmas!

You might try a frittatta or quiche (skillet omelets). Both can be prepared before and put in the oven in the morning. Both are eggs, cream (like making omelet) cheese, and vegetables or meat. There are some fantastic recipes here or on food network.
Ready to cook bacon makes it a snap to make good bacon without the mess, although its not as tasty as the slow cooking bacon.
Or you might want to make a couple of coffee cakes or different types of muffins. Both keep well.

You can do a french toast bake. Just cut up the amount of slices you want, spread in bottom of buttered serving pan, mix up one egg, 1/4 C half & half, 1T sugar, 1/8 t cinnamon pre 2 slices of bread, and pour that over, sprinkle a bit more cinnamon sugar on top dot with a bit of butter and let sit covered overnight. In morning preheat oven 375* bake uncovered for 30-45 min. Recover with foil and take to work wrapped in towels or insulated carrier. Good luck.

Make an egg pie. Using a pie dish, or lasagna style dish, start with a ready made crust large enough for the dish( or make your own), bake the crust for a few mins in oven to brown and crisp it up a little bit, then whip up some eggs, milk and anything else you want in it, similar to an omlet,( ham, cheese, spinach, asparagus), what ever sounds good to you, fill in the crust and bake before you leave for the party, travel with it hot, or re-heat. Yummy........
