i think u do have to wait... but if u have a place in mind u can ask them.. they will feel ur hair and let u know if it is too weak to handle it.... if ur hair is extremely damaged they won't do it, because ur hair will melt!!! that's what they told me after i had this crazy curly perm.... the straightening actually damages ur hair like crazy too, but it LOOKS extremely healthy after u do it.. weird.
good luck

well u can have them perm the new growth, like if u go to the hair dresser to get relaxers they usually just relax the new growth, but since ur dealing with something else i say either wait until it grows out or cut the part of your that is relaxed, off if i were u i would be careful trying something like that i mean if it is japanese what do they really know about black or textured hair besides, if it is a perm doesnt it make it curly, if ur mixed u most likely have some type of curly hair!!!!
dont get relaxers dont u wanna have the option of bein curly sometimes, i dont get relaxers i flat iron mine and it looks like i have a relaxer, but u have to buy a good one i have a sedu it is $125!!! its alot but worth it!!

a relaxer will never leave it always going to be in your hair the ony way is to cut it out at the roots and yes it's safe to do want you want with that ohther perm but a perm will never fade unless you star over that means you have to cut it out

wait for at least 4 weeks before you put anymore chemicals in your hair. It will become damaged and you will have "over-processed" hair, and the ends will split.
If it as a year ago...you are fine
