Which of the following are abuse?

1. Feeding a child only unhealthy food because it's easier than trying to get him to eat healthy.

2. Dressing a child in clothes that make her look like a hooker.

3. Having a boyfriend over to have sex in a living room with no door where children cannot go to the bathroom in the night w/o seeing what's going on.

4. Telling a child you will pick him up on a given day then not even calling, not answering your phone, and finally answering and telling him you can't pick him up becuse you're drinking?

5. Letting a child engage in destructive behavior rather than make the effort to correct it.

List all the ones you consider abuse, also I'd like to hear any you've seen or experienced that are truly damaging to a child but would probably not be labeled abuse by a court.

NONE of these beleive it or not!!!!!!!!!!! The law states something to the effect of bodily harm and or death (ex: meth lab or gun to the head, seen by a cop).

I will add to the list:

1. This falls under unhealthy foods:
A. Feeding the child condiments because food is too
expensive.
B. Bring child home half eaten fast food lunch meals for
dinner.
C. Having nothing other than numerous brands of beer and
wine in the refrig.
D. Not allowing to child to eat the only 'real' food in the house
beacause it's 'mom's and it was expensive'.

2. Mom leaving her very realistic looking sex toys out in the open
(on the bed, dressers, and stuck to the tile in the shower stall)
when the child is 'allowed' for run of these rooms.

3. Mom running a 'bed and breakfast' for every man she meets
on the numerous dating websites, she is a member of.

4. Child witnesses drunk mom and drunk friend, hold yet
another drunk underwater until he turned blue and got
knocked out......child laughed that 'they' thought they killed
him because he stopped breathing.

5. Child witnesses drunk mom fist fighting with two equally
drunk men.....states they had to hit mom it was self defense.

6. Mom drives while drinking or while drunk with child in car.

7. Child wears clothes and shoes two sizes too small, mom
claims she can't afford clothes. She never wears the same
thing twice.

8. Not calling the child on his birthday or holidays.

9. Mom lies to child about working late to go out on dates.

10. Mom leaves child alone all hours of the night, out on dates.

11. Child is not allowed to call other parent, because mom
may get 'in to trouble'.

12. Mom passes out drunk while dinner is cooking.

13. Mom is an unmedicated Bipolar, she claims the doctors
were wrong.....she refuses to seek treatment or take
the proper meds. Mom had a couple of stays in the ward.

14. Mom self medicates with all sorts of stuff.

Went to court this year.....lost faith in the court system. Yeah, what is being done to the child by no means is going to kill him on the spot (unless one of these perv's she is hooking up with is a real nutcase). Do we think what this child is being exposed to at her house is going to cause long term damage. HELL YEAH!

It gets much, much worse tham what I printed here. You can contact me......it will make you sick.

They are all considered some form of abuse in my opinion, but some of them won't hold water in court. For instance, the first one. As long as the child is not starving or malnourished, the court would throw that one out. The second probably wouldn't either unless of course the child is sold into prostitution. The third one maybe, the fourth one might be some form of mental abuse, but mostly neglect. Not sure what the last one would constitute, but it sounds to me like you may need to talk to a lawyer. The fourth one happened to my daughter all the time until he finally got put in jail for violation of probation. It also happened a lot to my husband by his father. There should be a law against sorry-*** fathers who break their kids hearts!

All of the above. Anything that violates a child's safety or health is abuse and all of the things that you mention do so. However, unfortuately a court won't take the kids or act over any of the things on the list.

I think they're all abusive, but I think only #4 and perhaps #3 would be ruled abuse by a court.

Sadly a huge percent of parents rely on unhealthy food because it's easier.

Those things are called neglect. Intentionally hurting a child physically or mentally is abuse.
