Ginger helps to calm an upset stomach but I'm not sure how it works. Ginger ale would be your best bet, or a ginger tea. You can make your own by steeping a few thin slices of fresh ginger in a cup of hot water for a few minutes.

A trick my kids' pediatrician shared....drain the juice from canned peaches and stir in just a dash of ground ginger. Sip slowly at the juice...a few teaspoons at a time....until you get to feeling better. This usually has a pretty quick effect.

Ginger ale is indeed good to settle your stomach if it is upset, as long as you shake the carbonation out of it. and I suggest you warm it up to a little above room temp as well. Ginger alone is long known as a stomach soother. If you have gingerpowder, just put some in boiling water, let it cool a bit and drink that. it does the same thing.

When I am nauseous, I drink sprite with ice chips in it. That will usually calm down my stomach...also, I make myself get the chills, that helps take away the nausea.

I don't want to be mean and mention that I want two points, so I'm just going to answer this one:

Never heard of that but sounds like it works.

Don't see how this is a spiritual or religious question. Perhaps health related?

It is carbonation that creates the same effect as say, Alka-Seltzer. It neutralizes stomach acid because it is a chemical base.
