LOL. Not necessarily. I consider myself Agnostic. Basically, my whole life up until about a year ago, I have considered myself Christian. Thats pretty much all I knew. But, I started questioning certain things. Like, if evolution is fact... then that whole "creation" story can't be right. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time in the day to try to research every point. And while I don't believe in religion anymore. I can't say that I've completely crossed over to the Atheist side. Its hard to undo a lifes worth of teaching. I'm still kinda working on it.

Interesting standpoint.....but no!

Im an agnostic because I have trouble with the whole "control" factor of religion, and I cant get my head round the whole chinese whispers aspect of it all...BUT - Im not so arrogant to think that I know everything so cant discount the whole life after death thing. Plus, I believe in ghosts so cant call myself an Atheist.

Atheist is a very scary word though - I would defo be too chicken to discount every possiblity of spirituality!

Actually, atheists do not exist. If you are honest, the best you can be is an agnostic. In order to be an atheist you would have to know everything. At least the agnostic is honest enough to admit that he/she does not know whether there is a God or not.

I use to say I was agnostic just because I was ignorant to the fact that I was really an Atheist. Now I admit to it but I am careful who I tell because people automaticall think that if you don't belive in a god then you must worship the devil - NOT true.

What about agnostic atheists? Must be a brave chicken (like the one that tried to cross the interstate).

I think the agnostics are the only smart ones among us. Where everyone else is so sure that God(s) exist, or God(s) don't, agnostics are brave enough to stand up and admit that they don't know.

Agnostics are not cowardly in any way. In fact, I commend them for not closing their minds entirely to the possibility of God's existence. Even though they have never experienced any proof of Him,they also cannot prove He does not exist, and they are mature and logically inclined enough to admit it.

Agnostics are just honest with themselves. Theists and Atheists are exactly the same, they believe in something that cannot be proven true or false.

The word was only invented in the late nineteenth century for matters of convenience so Victorian atheists wouldn't suffer the social stigma of declaring their disbelief. Cowardly is too strong a word but agnosticism is a bit of a cop out.

light hearted answer: why would they be? They're just not sure of if there's a god or not, what does that have to do with being "cowardly fence sitters"?
