Our small group (a tightly knit church group) is donating $20 per couple to help children in India that are below the caste level. They're generally regarded as less than human, they are generally homeless, and it's considered unclean to even walk in their shadows. With our money, they'll get immunizations and vitamins.

It's not much, but most of us are struggling to put food on the table from week to week ourselves.

We usually sponsor a needy family and take gifts to the residents in the nursing home, but we can't do it this year.

We have a program at church called Toys for Joy, we collect lots of toys, and next weekend, we have a big Christmas festival for underprivaledged families, the children get to pick one toy that they want, and we have music, food, lotsa festivities. I like to volunteer for it, see the children so happy and cheerful, playing with thier new toy, the mothers and fathers happy that their kids are happy. I love serving.

Through Intel my wife and I buy Christmas for some ungrateful christian welfare family every year. Then they call up in January to tell us they are out of diapers and the TV we bought wasn't as big as the 35" they wanted and that we should rectify that. Thanks for making me recall that.

I might make an anonymous donation to some charity but then again I might not-it depends on how bitter and cynical I'm feeling.
