Errrmmmm... Why does Jesus dying on the cross "for me" mean I should be a Christian? I didnt ask him to die for me..

Thanks for your sincere answers.

Although I haven't seen anything very convincing, in fact I'm surprised at the lack of decent answers.

Christians especially, you devote your lives to your religion and beliefs, yet few could come up 5 seperate good reasons. In fact to be fair, I only read 1 that actually gave five reasons.

I've not been convinced, there's not even free gifts or financial incentives.

Interestingly no Muslims, Jews or any other religion trying to get me into the fold...interesting.

1. Because ignorance is bliss
2. Because people don't want to believe that they will die and their existence will cease.
3. Because they are so morally and ethically inept that they need a fear of hell to ground them morally and ethically.
4. Because they were raised that way and can't seem to think past it.
5. Because it gives them a sense of belonging into a group--even if it is based on false premises

ALLAH will show you the true religion and help you through everything.

Muslims do not make war with anyone, they only fight if their country is invaded or attacked.

Because Jinnah(Heaven) is for all who keep the faith of Islam.

Muslims are closer to God than any other religion.

Islam is peaceful and does not kill anyone.

Children are taught to respect their parents and parents are taken care of by their children when they are old.

Women are honored in Islam and respected for their minds not their bodies.

Women and men dress modestly.

Muslims take care of their neighbors and orphans.

Both men and women are entitled to an education.

The Qur'an is flawless.

Muslims give zakah(money) yearly to the poor.

Ramadan is a time when we give up food and drink and sex during daylight hours in order to feel closer to ALLAH and to experince what it is like for the poor people who have nothing to eat.

Everyone is a virgin until marriage.

Men can have up to 4 wives as long as they can treat them fairly and equally.

Girls and boys are seperated in school so nothing bad occurs between them.

Women do not have to fast or pray on their periods.

We were put on this Earth to serve and worship ALLAH.

No drugs, acohol, gambling, sex be4 marriage, smoking, prostitution, teenage pregnancies, shooting up schools.

Children respect their teachers.

Mothers stay at home with the children and take care of the house and husband.

Mothers retain custody of the children until they are 12 than they are in the custody of the husband.

1. There either is a God, or there isn't, both cannot be true.
2. If there isn't a God and you don't believe, no problem,
but if there isn't a God and you do believe, you have wasted some of your time and money (not like you weren't going to waste some it anyway).
3. If there is a God, and you believe, eternal life,
if there is a God and you don't believe, eternal damnation.

4. Ergo, the smart risk-benefit choice is to believe (Descartes).

5. Believing also seems statistically to increase length of life and happiness and solves the first order questions (where did hydrogen come from?) and the thisd law of thermodynamics paradox (if the universal trend is to entropy, why is there so much order in life).

i have faith in being agnostic
heres why you should be agnostic
1. there is no proof that god exists
2. there is no proof that god doesnt exist
3. no one knows all of the answers
4. all religions are based on tales told for thousands of years and have no proven factual basis
5. atheism puts all of your faith in science which still has an infinite number of unanswered questions. to be an athiest without having all of the possible answers about everything is the same thing as being a part of a religion, you think you know everything but you reely dont.

ha i was just reading the other comments and i saw one guy say that you dont sell religion... i guess thats true, but you DO force it on people without telling them the other side of everything.

Why should I convince you of anything? You have already made up your own mind. Convince yourself, for all I care. Do not turn to Christ. But rest assure all will bow to Him one day. Will you be ready? Will you really be ready? Say I am right for the sake of your arguement. How will you explain yourself on judgement day? Say you are right, hmmm you better really hope you are right. Give me one good reason why I should try and convince you Jesus is Lord? If you really wanted to honestly seek truth, you would beg for God to come to you. God does exist, there I did my part the rest is up to you. You deny it well, then that is your perogative.

Read 'The Bible, The Qur'an and Science' by Dr. Maurice Bucaille. Asking ordinary people for five reasons isn't very effective if you really are seeking The Truth. Read the book and inform yourself. You'll be amazed.

Apart from all the obvious answers that you will get........Jesus died for you...prepared a place for you etc I would like to add that if this is all there is to life then what is the point. We all have troubles but if we have no hope of eternal life or the future then all is for nothing and I cannot believe that.
You are searching and I hope that you find peace.
