maybe........but I would have thought the age difference in people would help to balance things out. The young would learn a new perspective and the older would learn from the younger. I think the problems goes further than this

You have a point. We could identify ourselves with some indication of our age - liker a number to indicate what decade of life we're in. That way I wouldn't bother to answer, say, a rant from the "1" person - or maybe I'd answer it in language appropriate to that age. By the way, I'm a "6".

it wouldn't be so bad if we knew how old the person we were responding to was--I have seen some very mature and intelligent teenagers on here though, so I can't say that they are in fact a "problem"

Perhaps.

I'd say, though, that it is more a lack of education about people's own religions (history, development, changes) and the religions of others.

And a decided lack of interest in correcting that.
