I would say don't worry about upgrading or downgrading...Vista is coming out next month...upgrade to that instead and don't waste your time worrying about XP.

okay ... well i answered your last post < a minuite ago so here:

Going from XP Pro to XP Home isn't an upgrade, it is a downgrade which is why you can't do it. You would need to format your entire PC to get windows XP Home on it.

Just a bit of warning. If you have an XP Home upgrade CD you will not be able to install a whole new OS without some kinda of older windows version CD to conferm that you have a older version. Without it you cannot have a new installation with a upgrade CD.

" windows Xp does not support upgrading from Professional to Home edition"

format hd and install home..that's all you can do...

xp pro is better than home ed.
xp home can upgrade to xp pro not the other way around.

Why do you wanna do that? You've got XP Pro, so why change it. Be happy. It has got some more features than Home (remote-desktop, domain logon...)

Why are you asking the same question, your answer was already given by me and the user above stated the same!

you'd be downgrading that's why.

Professional is higher than Home
