Yes, this is also known as the element of spirit or the soul.
Pagans are well acquainted with the fifth element. The pentacle is representative of the five elements, Earth, Air, Fire, Water & Spirit. Though we may not be christians we are for the most part very spiritual people (at least the ones I'm acquainted with any way.) Hope this answers your question.

Would not go that far that Aether is God. It is God's creation. It occupies the SPACE between celestial bodies. It may be some time before it is recognised as an Element. Presently, it is meta-physical, i.e. beyond laboratory experiments.
