Malaria is treatable.

Malaria is not contagious but it is spread by the bite of a mosquito carrying blood from an infected person. So if one person nearby has it, it's possible another person could get it, that is IF a mosquito takes blood from the already infected person. It could happen but remember the mosquito is a flying insect so it may not necessarily come from a person nearby.
Also bear in mind , that it takes a couple of days for it to manifest after a bite i.e. incubation period.

Malaria is a DISEASE caused by a parasite.
Treatment lasts anything from 3 days to 5-6 days, no longer than most acute illnesses, except if severe.

No,Malaria is a parasite, and is only transmitted by a mosquito. It is treatable, but it is a long term treatment. But it isn't contagious like other diseases, such as colds or flu. Best of luck to you.
