Younger men are because they have not sowed their wild oats. I know this from experience, A lot of this is also true with women as well as they need to find out what they really want in life before making a commitment. I am in love with a wonderful woman and we will be together forever. How is that for commitment? If you really love someone, you are not afraid of having a commitment at all.

Some men, like some women, realize the true meaning of "commitment". They are not "scared", just more honest. Therefore, they do not commit until they have no doubts that this is what they want to do.

Because commitment requires maturity. I think deep down, most men do not want to grow up. Plus, commitment takes work and compromise. I think again, most men are selfish. My husband in a nutshell.

i don't think we are. i think it's just generally we tend to know exactly what we want from a woman/wife, and we always know when we're ready to settle down (we don't like to commit unless we know it's time to settle down and stop fooling around). So when we see a woman that we know she's the one, and we're ready to settle, then ... we commit! anything other than that time/person, we don't feel the need to commit.

They arent. Plenty of men arent with the right situation. Maybe you are doing something to scare them away, or you are too nice and they are walking all of over you.

Maybe because they have been hurt just as many times as girls have... maybe even more... and just dont think that they can be committed to someone who wont be the same to them...

I think if they find the right woman and they know it....(which they do know if they have it) they aren't afraid of commitment.
