Apart from the obvious answers, like stretching and practice - which of course are essential, but what specifically in terms of stretching, exercise, balance, technique etc.

Everyone says stretch and they're right, but they're neglecting something very important. When you stretch your legs, it is also very important to stretch your glutes (butt muscles) and your lower back as well. This can be achieved by standing against a wall (or without if you have good balance) and lifting your leg, bent at the knee, towards your armpit on that same side. The idea is to actually get your knee right into your armpit without moving your hips from the wall or twisting yourself at all. You can lie down and do this also, but make sure to keep your opposite leg flat against the floor and do not move your hips. The reason this is good is that when you can lift your leg higher at the hip joint, your knee will be higher and therefore the kick will end higher.
Also, a quick "trick" for stretching...start your stretch VERY slowly, only going a very short distance into the stretch. Then FLEX the muscle you are stretching and hold for a 6 count. Relax and go slightly further into the stretch- hold for 6. Then flex again for a 6 count. Continue doing this until you are at your max stretch, then come up VERY slowly. Lather, rinse, repeat...OFTEN. I like to stretch in the shower, when my muscles are already warmed up and relaxed from the shower.
Hope this helps...

A good way to stretch is slowly raise your knee as if you are preparing to extend your leg, then extend your leg in the air (for examples, round house kick). See if you can leave your leg up there with proper form of course. Each time try to go high and higher! then you can practice fast and kick higher :)

The obvious is most of the answer. I'm a firm advocate of slow stretching. It is best to stretch after your workout, that's when you can gain more flexibility. You wil want to keep your plant leg slightly bent both for balance & to get max height on your kicks.

strecth the legs by standing straight up /w the legs locked and grab your toes. then stretch by doing the splits as far as you can. and finnally sit on your knees and lay back, keeping your knees on the floor and have your back touch the floor. do these stretches for ten seconds each then stop, then do them again. you should do this everyday. also while you are kicking lean back more to create a better balance. this way you can kick higher. good luck, and practice is always good too.

Stretching is important, but that isn't the only thing to watch. Keep your knee high when you kick. Your knee is a hinge joint. If it is pointing low in your chamber, your kick will be low. If your knee is high, your kick will be higher. Don't forget to pivot on your base foot.

Set it up better. If you keep throw it ever 5 seconds, you'll never land them. You got to make them lower their guard so they will think kicks are gonna to hit their side or thigh so when you move your leg, they'll try to protect their side or thigh and get nailed in the head.

However it's easier said than done.

hi if you set yourself a spot to kick then slightly raise it (nothing too drastic) and keep increasing it you will find your kicks get higher without you streesing too much ,this has worked to help all my kids and myself get head height kicks, your probably already stretching enough by training
