I have a two-year-old Shih tzu. Had him since he was a pup. Bought him from a breeder. People ask me if he is albino, but he loves being in the sun. His fur is all white except for a brown patch around his face and he has blue eyes and a pink nose. All other Shih tzus I've seen have a black nose. I would appreciate whatever info you can give me. Thank you

Some animals do have pink noses. Its normal. Poodles, Shih-Tzus, Malteses, and others have pink noses sometimes. Its not a bad thing so don't worry!

Usually a pink nose and blue eyes are a fault in most breeds (IE a Rotti with a pink or part pink nose). I would not think he is albino with the brown in his hair. I think he just got more recessive genes from his parents. Ask your breeder. They should give you an honest answer.

More than likely something got cross in the line somewhere. You didn't say where you got the dog or if he had papers or if you seen the mommy and daddy.. But what you said here there was a mixed up somewhere down the line..Sorry but it could be a Shih Tzu mixed with something else.

Your dog is albino. I have a 8 month old australian shepherd/terrier mix. She is all white except for a brown spot of one one of her eyes, and color on her butt. She's deaf, but very sweet. When we first took her to the vet, they told us to be careful about how much sun she gets. They do make doggy sunscreen, and he even suggested buying a pair of "doggles', they're like sunglasses for dogs. It will help protect their sensitive eyes.
Hope this helps!

He sounds like he is albino except for the brown patch, Alot of albino animals enjoy sun but they CAN get sunburn so if your dog is outside I would spray childrens sunblock on him, dont forget the tips of his ears and tail!!

Don't let him get sunburned and just consider him unique!
