THere are many more...but here is a few...
Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year.
Deuteronomy 14:21-23
'A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.
Leviticus 27:29-31
The entire tithe of the herd and flock—every tenth animal that passes under the shepherd's rod—will be holy to the LORD.

Mike...tithing is not a requirment anymore. Jesus became the tithe and offering God requires. Tithing was old testament law but we now live in the grace of God. Please go to www.treeoflifeokc.com and look under lessons to read about tithing.
I am an ordained minister and I was raised in a very strong traditional pentecostal church which teaches tithe paying with the emphasis being....if we do no tithe 10 percent and give offerings God will not bless us. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please read the aforementioned teaching at the webpage and find freedom if you are in the tithe and offering bondage teaching that most mainline churches still ignorantly teach.
May God bless you my friend.

Righton and Father K are right on point. Plus paying tithes was before the law(10 commandments) came in play. Abraham tithed a tenth of his spoils to Melchizedek (Gen 14). It costs money to run the kingdom of God on this earth. It costs money to spread the Gospel of Christ throughout the nations. Christians should want to tithe and give offerings to see the kingdom of God prosper on this earth. We pay uncle sams percentage, how much more should we give 10% of our gross pay to the Father and His Kingdom.

Leviticus 27:30.
"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, . . . and prove me now herewith, . . . if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it,"

"In all thy gifts show a cheerful countenance, and set apart thy tithes with gladness,"

Tithes are part of the Law covenment which Jesus fulfilled and done away with.
Today we are under the law of love, and we are to give from the heart, not a specific dollar amount

MALACHI 3:6-10
6 ¶ For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, Lev. 27.30 · Num. 18.21-24 · Deut. 12.5-7 ; 14.22-29 · Neh. 13.12 that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

kevin m,
Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.... not our tithe. It is indeed false that God will not bless us if we do not tithe, but tithing is the same thing as giving me your credit card when I tell you that I'm going to get you some very nice things and pay your credit card off myself..... if you hand me your card, i.e. give the Lord your God 10% tithe (and above that, your offering) ESPECIALLY when you don't think you can AFFORD to (you can't afford NOT to), It's saying "God, I'm going to trust you. I'm going to give this money to help further your kingdom and trust that you will meed my every need. (as he says he will)"
