I understand your concern, but I want to share this.

I know 3 people from Africa who grew up in terrible poverty, unlike anything we call "poverty" in the US. Each of these 3 people were from different countries in Africa and I met them at various times. They have got to be the most faithful people I've ever met and they totally astound me. From all 3, I constantly heard the refrain, "God takes care of his people." And they would tell of how God got them through hardships in the most amazing ways.

When we look at the suffering in Africa on a grand scale, it seems hopeless, and we do wonder if God cares or hears at all. But when you see the individual, you realize that God does hear and "takes care of his people." The governments in Africa make for horrid conditions and poverty, and they are so corrupt and they don't help their own people. They are mostly to blame for the grand-scale poverty.
But God takes care of the people on an individual level. Even though to us, they may appear to be suffering terribly, oftentimes, when you hear them speaking of their own stories, you realize that they may have been even better off than the richest people.

These 3 Africans I know are absolutely amazing people with the strongest work ethic I've ever known, with the greatest compassion, and the greatest JOY! And I sit there as I listen to them, totally astounded how they could describe having joy in the midst of the suffering they describe. But somehow, they did.
So I don't think it's fair to say that God answers them all with "no."

I am not sure what this means, but it doesn't seem like you know much about Africa. I have been to Africa and the Christian population is growing at a rate that far exceeds America. In fact, 60% of the world's Christians live outside the US and Europe. I am inclined to think God is answering "yes" to their prayers.

stop killing each other maybe and remember god helps those who help them self so it does little good bitching about one life and blaming others while having your hand out for handouts you fell you are owed.
one thing I glad to see is a lot of Africans are doing just that which will improve thing in the country's that are becoming more democratic

If there was a god, he'd be the greatest mass murderer in history.

Great question.

Edit: Can any of the other answerers say 'genocide'???

Tsk. Are you assuming that all Africans are, like, hungry? Are you assuming that all Africans are praying? And, are you assuming that Africans are praying for things, instead of that God's will be done?

Think before you speak, maybe?

Offer the Pink Monkey a big bunch of bananas!

He's a sucker for the big banana!

Well either way the answer is the same!

They could start their prayers with "God, will you help us"....not "YO, Bro, can you hook us up?"
