The 101st didn't fly into the battle of the bulge they rode in by trucks. Though they usually used the C-47 for most other operations.

they where transported in most likely a GMC 2 1/5 ton, a Chevy 1 1/5 ton or perhaps a Mack into bastogne.

Perhaps you've already noticed this are all trucks and not aircraft's. That's correct they where transported into battle by trucks because the Germans did took the Americans by surprise and the weather didn't allowed any flying

I think the 101st only jumped into the D-Day battles and then into the Market Garden campaign. Otherwise, they were transported via ground forces for the other battles.

i think they were actually trucked in like regular infantry for that battle -- band of brothers covers that battle

what?they were in bastogne when the battle began and were surrounded later in the battle.
