I have been with a guy that lied to me. He told me he was single I trusted him then later I found out he was married to a lady and he wanted a girlfriend on the side. Tell me why you think they would go thought so much to hurt both people a lose both too.

I've wondered this many times. Here's my take on it. I think people get bored with their mates that they feel the need to look elsewhere and see how long they can get away with it. I also think that when guys have low self-esteem issues, they'll go out and see if they still 'got it'. They usually look for what's missing in their married life.

You don't know what he had at home, you never know anyone untill you live with them a few years, and as for yourself, he should have told you that he was married right from the start!! I always did, and I never had problem like that with the girlfriend!!

He surely has self-esteem issues and has to build up his ego by getting over on women. Call his wife and rat him out, then move on.

Something's lacking at home.
They are not getting attention, sex (enough), or just not in love with their spouse anymore. Sometimes it's too hard or expensive to leave.
Having somone on the side fills their need without losing anything they've worked hard to accomplish.

Oh, boredom. Maybe trying to see if they still have it. Maybe the spouse doesn't pay them enough attention. People change and relationship evolve. Some people can't handle it. Either way, it was wrong for them to lie to you.
