To deliberately take the life of another human being is immoral. However, in this context I have always liked the old poem
"Thou shalt not kill, but needs not strive
Officiously to keep alive"
That seems to me a useful guide for those responsible for the care of suffering patients with terminal problems. Obviously it wont cover all case - but can include many.

Tough question. While I see any not natural death as a horrible thing, I cannot imagine living with a horrible terminal disease which left me crippled with pain, then I woud think I would want assisted suicide, but other that that situation I dont think its right.
