Yes, if you don't let them then they will find a way to do it behind your back anyway.

I'm 17 and I am now allowed to date :).
I think that if the girl knows how to respect herself then indeed she should be allowed to date at 16.
Make sure you know who she is dating (get to know the guy just like my parents did). Get his house number, cell number, and address.
Make sure you know where she is going. If they have a change of plans tell her to call you.
AND she should be back home before midnight for sure!
I hope the 16 year girl that your talking about is allowed to go out ^_^

yes.. ask where they are going and set a fixed time to be back.... because if you don't let her go out she will do it behind your back and that could lead to bad things happening to her...If you are still nervous about it give her a cell phone an call her once and see if she is alright... If that isn;t your style meet the boy first and spend some time with him and get to know him and see if he is someone you want around your daughter

absolutley! thats the perfect age to start dating...you are slowing growing into your looks and are ready for the world! and your parents dont have to drive you around, haha.....but only date if you find someone you want to date, dont become the school slut just to show people that you are allowed to date now. not a good idea

I think 16 is the perfect age to begin dating. My parents would not let me date until I got my driver's license.

well i don't think it has anything to do with age of the person but the maturity of the person that she is dating( and herself) i didn't start dating til i was 17 cuz i didn't find a guy "worthy" of dating. and now, 2 years later, we're still together and going to get married when he gets back from kuwait

Yes, but start with an early curfew, say 10pm, and start with a Friday night only...give her a chance to prove that she's mature enough to handle dating, then sit back and watch your baby become a young lady.

all i have to say is that if my parents wouldve not allowed me to date i wouldve been better off. i wouldnt have made so many bad decissions and i wouldve never felt all those broken hearts. girls dont realize that guys cant be trusted and the ones who can be are completely rare to come by. but then again you need to go through these things so you can learn from your mistakes but in the end it will be up to you but first out weight he pros and cons.

It all depends if you trust the girl.... I would say yes...they are old enough but if her parents think shes to young she should wait until shes like 17 or 18

Not these days... Go out with friends; yes. On a date with a guy alone...no...
Save that for 17-18...
