My daughter received a lot of gifts in her 1st birthday party. She is just one and I don't think she needs so many gifts. She enjoys playing with her Mom and Dad more than playing with any of the toys she has. And she already has quite a few toys. So, I was thinking of donating it so that some other kids who cannot afford to buy toys can have them. My only concern is if it is okay to donate gifts given by others.

That's a great Idea. Just don't let the givers know.
I like my daughter to have one favorite toy at a time instead of a pile to deal with.

I'd be pissed if I found out someone had "donated" my gift that I spent time and effort picking out. I always put a lot of thought into gifts and choose them specifically for that person, no matter how young they are.

I would rather a parent just request donations be given in lieu of presents if they're uncomfortable with their child having so much. Your intentions are good, but overall it's a pretty tacky thing to do.

I'm on the fence about this question. I don't think I would be very happy to know that a gift I shopped for specifically for a certain child was given away. Did you have a party? People will brings gifts to a party and you should have expected that. If you didnt want any, you should have requested "no gifts" on the invitation.

the mummy and father of the youngster probably do not opt for the youngster to get into too a lot of a materialistic ideas set related to birthdays--birthdays must be celebrations of residing an additional advantageous 365 days in elementary words, not correct to getting presents. And donating is one thanks to attempt this. even although the birthday youngster's kinfolk ought to have indicated the charity of their decision, you could continuously donate for your widespread charity and enable the kinfolk comprehend this is what you probably did. that is a few thing somewhat twenty first Century yet perhaps extreme time this magnanimous gesture replaced into performed. this kind of vast quantity of (American) toddlers right now have a lot and they don't truly cherish or take good care of what they have because they comprehend if it breaks or they lose it, they are going to easily get a sparkling one (perhaps more advantageous suited one). with techniques from asking that invitees make donations to a charity in lieu of a present, this is sharing your persons'/households' generosity with those who truly favor the help somewhat than preserving it in contact in only one already-properly-presented-for toddler who doesn't truly favor some thing else. And as you're saying, some toddlers are raised to imagine of others and comprehend that they are fortunate adequate to get what they favor already in order to percentage the wealth with the a lot less fortunate. that is a finer, more advantageous humanistic thanks to strengthen a toddler.

That is an AWESOME idea, I know that every year my children get more toys than they now how to play with on Christmas so I stack them all in a closet and every month bring a couple of them out and they love it versus getting them all at once and never playing with them again the rest of the year!

I have received clothes, toys, shoes, etc. that my children didn't have need for at the time and I saved them for later, only for them to have outgrown them so then I give them to someone else who can use it.

Just don't let the giver know, and if they ask be honest.

Sure. Especially this time of year - donating them is a way to help those who can not afford xmas gifts..........I just wouldn't let the gift givers know about it. Some may love the idea and some may hate the idea.

That's really a great idea! My parents do that to. Why do we have to waste something that we don't use which could mean a lot to others?

Gifts comes from the heart and it's not the price or the buying that matters. Your gift could bring a joy to someone's face and that's priceless!

So long as theyre unopened i dont see why not.

Although remember she's going to change and develop lot in the next year, and she'll want and need more different kinds of interaction and stimulation for learning and devloping, and those toys might provide that.
