It's NOT wrong. You're both into each other, so it shouldn't matter what you do.
Whoever put 18 as the magic number was smoking something, but has succeeded in brain-washing the majority of people in the US to thinking that it's not OK for a 19 year old to date a 17 year old.
You're not wrong.

Gross!! I'm 23 and I would NEVER date a 17 year old!! She's a little girl! When u were 17, would u have dated her as an 11 year old?
And if u have to ask if its wrong....then u KNOW its wrong! Seems to me u just want someone to control. Or are u just at that mentality level? Not trying to bash, but what could u possibly have in common with someone that young?

In some states, you may be restricted as to how late you can be out with her. It may have been an urban legend, but when I was in high school, it was "common knowledge" (right there with "chewing gum takes seven years to digest" and "if you touch your tongue to a lamppost in winter, it'll stick") that anyone over 18 was subject to immediate arrest for Statutory Rape if he was out with a girl under 18, after 10 PM, and any of her clothing had been removed, Even Her Shoes. Ah, high school...
So right or wrong, there may be legal issues because your date is not a legal adult. You might use a search engine to look for the criminal code in your state; most states now have their laws on line. Try search terms including curfew and minor as well as your state and city -- I just went to my favorite search engine and typed in "curfew minor " and the first item returned was my state's "Revised Statutes" on the subject -- the actual penal code. The Internet is a wonderful thing, if you know how to use it.
Other than that, go bowling, see a movie, play miniature golf, whatever you're doing, and have fun! My oldest daughter is 18, and one of the friends she hangs out with semi-regularly is 23. ("It's NOT a DATE," she said forcefully the first time they went out, and they were with a small group of friends, so it probably wasn't something she said for the sole purpose of easing our minds. And of course, at 18 she's a legal adult, so the Revised Statutes don't apply...)

big problem at that age. If you were 33 and she was 27, it wouldnt be that big of a deal, but at 23 and 17 there are some big problems.
at 17, she's still in High School. You can drink, drive, live on your own, get a job, etc and she cant. That means you have all the power in this relationship. You need to ask yourself why you dont want to go out with women your own age. Why do you need to be in a controlling relationship? What happens when you want to go to a bar or concert, and she cant get in?
And most important, do her parents know about you? What do they think? Do you want them to know you are dating their daughter?

If I was you I would not date her. I mean she is 17 and all but if she was 18 it would be a different story.

It depends what state you are in. Most states she is considered a minor even though I'm sure she does not dress nor act like one. I dated older guys because I couldn't stand them at my own age. I see nothing wrong w/it but be prepared if you want to take it a step further.

morally that one depends on the parents point of view since she is not 18 yet.
Legally she should be able to make her own choices though.
17 in most all states is the legal age for a female to be able to make decisions of that matter.

Just be carefull that no one will pin you down, because she is a minor. But no, to answer your question, there is nothing wrong for you to like someone 6 years younger than you.

No your fine. You are both adults, take it slow and have fun. Forget what other people think. If you like her and she likes you go for it. I am 26 and have dated 20 year olds. As long as your intentions are good. Then I say Good Luck.
