its called redeication...you never LOSE your salvation...you can stray away though and if you do then you need to rededicate your life. this is where the once saved always saved thing comes into play...ppl believe that once you are saved you can do whatever you want but that isnt how it works...if you do somethin wrong you have to ask for forgiveness.

He is just and faithful to forgive and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. If you repent from the bottom of your heart, and pray earnestly, he will deliver you from the bondage. You may need to bind evil spirits, pray longer, pray on your knees or fast, but the bondages can be broken. God bless you! I John 1:9, Acts 3:19-20, Matt. 18:18-20, Ps. 1:1-3. Meditate on the word day and night, pray constantly. I think most Christians believe you can't lose your salvation unless you deny Christ. However, so many things Jesus said sound as if you surely CAN lose your salvation just by not persevering to the end, or keeping Christ first in your life at all times. But we know he forgives, and we know we must keep our eyes on Him.

Yes, it is indeed a gift, we have done nothing to earn this gift. However we can turn back from serving God and doing his will. The bible gives examples of those who were faithful and then turned away; and as a result they were not pleasing to God. We are constantly told that our faith would take endurance, Paul likened it to a race and warfare. However that does not negate the fact that it is still a gift. It is what we choose to do with this gift. And don't forget "those that endure to the end"! if we fall away from God it is our decision, we make a conscious decision not to serve and obey God or "shrink or fall back to destruction" so once saved always is not scriptural, I think people choose to believe this because it is easier.

Hi there.
You'll find a fairly detailed answer in my blog, "Thoughts on the Doctrine of God's Election", which you can access via my Yahoo 360 (if you don't know how, click on my user name, then click on the 360 tag on my profile). Please take the time to read it through - I hope it blesses you. Feel free to make any comments by clicking on the appropriate tag.
The short answer is no. However, that is only in the case where someone is truly saved, rather than "saved". Read Luke 8:4 - 15 to see what I mean.
May God bless you.

God won't take away what He gave you. If you lose your salvation, it's because you were once saved and you turned away from God and backslid from Him. God doesn't take anything away, the only way to lose something is on your own. If you choose to stay with God you will remain in victory for Him, but if you turn away, than you turn away from God and you turn away from everything else He wants to give you. Saying if God will take away your salvation is like saying God is going to stop loving you, And God will Never stop loving you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salvation is not an "event" - it is a process. The process (as St. Paul said: "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling") begins at Baptism and goes on until we die.
Salvation means "spiritual health" - from the Latin = "salus" = health.
Sometimes we are healthy...sometimes not.
We can CHOOSE to not eat right, not sleep enough and we will get sick.
Same thing goes for our "salvation" (I never use the word "saved")...
God won't drop us...but we certainly have the ability to jump out of His hand.
The answer is YES.

Jesus said those who endured to the end would be saved.
Faith is a living action. Just like love.
If you aren't showing love, then you don't have love.
If you aren't showing faith, then you don't have faith. If you don't have faith then you aren't saved.
John shows love for God is shown by obedience.
Paul taught that faith without love is worthless.
Love is an action, or work, or deed.
Faith in itself is an action, work or deed.
This is why James can say faith without works is dead.
and dead faith can not save.

I think if you tern your back on God and deny him you would lose it. its only a gift if you accept it you can throw it away with carless words and deads. being Christian means following Christs example not just saying I believe he is God.
