Colchester is a fine town with an improving football team. It is an old town with strong historical links. It has a castle and strong Roman connections, having once been a Roman walled town. Stay away from squaddie pubs, enjoy the shopping and backstreets. Colchester still has many shops of individuality and interest, and has a good amount of `night life.`
