A certain religion today openly kills in the name of God and as one of you said, when they are criticized for their inhuman deed, they get insulted and are ready to kill you for daring to criticize them. I feel that we have reached the point of no return and all in the name of God!

The question obviously identifies that something is wrong with religion. Anything that promotes hate is just wrong. Maybe some re-evaluation of the dogmas and creed would find something more compatible between people.

What exactly was religious about the War for Independence? How about the Civil War? What religious hatred inspired the War of 1812? WWI? WWII? How about the Korean War? Vietnam? Cold War? Invasion of Grenada? I will agree that we are faced with a war today (terrorism) that is inspired by the beleifs on one religion, but to make statements like "most wars involved religious hatred" is not factual. Most of the tension in the Middle East has religious roots but again takes place among one particular religion that is grounded in violence.

Markos,
Perhaps you should do some more research into the history of religion or all organized religions. There have been more people killed in the name of God or the church than for any other reason. Go figure! Idon't understand that except to say that basically the human race in general is seriously flawed both morally and ethically. We would much rather go kill a person in the name of religious dogma than to sit down and discuss ways to compromise our religious and other differences and make good on our promise to that person/society and to our alleged devotion to God in whatever name we opt to call the Divine.
It is a sad thing to witness people failing repeatedly to learn from their mistakes and doomed to repeat them until we finally DO learn. Don't make the mistake of thinking that it's just some religions, all are at fault for killing in the name of God at one time or another.

most wars don't involve religious hatred, at all. Religion is just something people can toss out there (if they choose) to unite people to thier cause or try to prove that they are right about something. And sometimes, religion and ethnic identity go hand in hand.

You are right that religion causes all wars
Like the Revolutionary War, religion caused that by...no wait, that was high taxes and lack of freedoms
The French and Indians War, involved religion in that...no wait, that was about property and land.
The Spanish American War was about the religion of...hum, seems like that was another one about land and borders.
The War of 1812, surely that was about religion...no that was another one of those land and power wars
The Civil War? Wasn't religion....well, mostly it was about state rights and political power. Slavery was mixed in to it also.
World War I, that was about religions right?....what do you mean about the sinking of an American ship? It wasn't about religion?
World War II was the religion one, right?...oh, Pearl Harbor, and national defense huh.
Korea? Vietnam? Bosnia? Iraq?

Remind me again how you reached the conclusion that religion is responsible for all the wars in the world? I seem to have missed it somehow?

How would you propose to avoid provoking them? The only way they will stop attacking is if we all convert or are all dead.

If you would all simply agree that my god is better than your god, we wouldn't be having these problems.
