This may take awhile so bear with me. Scripture says we cannot tempt the Lord God. That is because sin has no appeal to Him because of His nature. And because He has no physical body, the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, nor the pride of life also have no appeal to Him.

How excited must Satan have been the day that one of his demons ran into his presence saying "You won't believe what I just saw!" Satan said, "What's that?" The demon responded "I was just down in Bethlehem and I saw God's Son IN A PHYSICAL BODY!!!!!!" (This is just my guess as to what they said)

Satan would have recognized that this was his ONE and ONLY chance to change his future, the future of the world, and bring God to His knees. Now that God was living in a physical body Satan could now TOUCH Him. He could now TEMPT Him. He could now show Him who really was the most powerful.

I can imagine Satan and His demons scheming as to how they were going to attack Jesus and bring Him down. Well they spent Jesus's entire life trying to cause Him to sin and succumb to the weaknesses of the flesh in which He was living.

But Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. He went willingly to the cross and sacrificed himself for us. He died there and on the third day arose. Having conquered death.

From this moment forward all was lost for Satan. Jesus returned to His heavenly abode where Satan had no power. The future was written. God and Satan both know that the outcome of this battle is not in dispute. God knows He has won and Satan knows he has lost. The only question remaining is how many souls can Satan take with him to live eternally in anguish and suffering away from the presence and glory of God.

Satan does not want us to sin in order to win anything. He knows he has lost. Misery loves company. He wants us to sin because that will be one less soul that will be able to enjoy an eternity in heaven where Satan knows he cannot go.

So yes. God has already won. The battle between good and evil was fought while Jesus was on earth and God won. Now we must just wait for the ultimate day when we will find out who has lived their life on the winning team and who has lived their life on the losing team.

Simplicity my friend. The ruler of this world is the big bad Satan, bealzabubba, old scratch himself. When one follows the world then they follow the devil. Pagans follow the world. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. God doesn't want to win. To win is being mortal. Only us humans want to win things. God set things in motion a long time ago and it is what it is. Every on has choices to choose god or the devil. Most choose the world with Satan.

Is this quote from Howie Mandel or William Shatner? Either way, they're both Canadian, so don't trust them.
