Some of you may remember a previous question I asked. A close friend who I care for deeply divulged how he felt about me. We are both in other relationships. I asked you, the public if I should divulge that I felt the same...the consensus was yes.

Well, I did. So, he breaks up with his girlfriend. We meet one evening and agree that once his house sells I will leave my partner (we live together), he and we will get married and build a house together.

Then the next day he says he thinks it was rash and that we should get to know each other better first (we have known each other 2 years). And he gets back together with his girlfriend. He says he still feels the same about me but if it is meant to be it will. What the F***CK. I am so sad and confused. I told him whatever happened we would be friends, now I am so hurt I just don't know. He still wants to spend time with me. Any feedback or opinions would be great.

It sounds like he's not interested in being serious. You should let him know that he's obviously giving the impression that he doesn't want you by getting back together with his girlfriend. Yes, if it's meant to be, it will be, but love is about sacrifices and commitment. You have to try hard to keep the relationship going, and to keep your partner happy. The way not to do that is by getting with another girl. I think you should just expect nothing to happen, and get over him now before it gets harder. Maybe, when he sees that you don't need him around, and that you might not even want him, he might come back. Guys are weird like that. Good luck.

This is a typical outcome from this type of situation. You are both bored with your current partners and looking for "excitement". Some adolescent lust and childish romantic fantasy are just the thing.
Your lucky one of you woke up prior to things going any further, it could have gotten really ugly with you stranded in some hotel in Wyoming and him scampering back to his "secure" partner, or your having done the same.
Decide what it is YOU want, and find it. It likely will not be found in a mythical perfect love.
