Romans 16:16, 1 Corinthians 16:20, 2 Corinthians 13:12, 1 Thessalonians 5:26 all command Christians to greet one another with a holy kiss.

Very few Christians do this today. Are they disobedient to the word of God?

If your answer is "that command does not apply because we live in a different time and culture, what prevents you from using that reasoning on any other command that you dislike? Doesn't that interpretation open the door to "pick and choose" theology?

This isnt one of those "pick and choose" theologies. Many Christians greet eachother with a kiss, but it would just be a bad thing to kiss someone who doesnt want to be.

Please don't try to take Biblical words out of context. I'm sure you must realize that what was called a 'Holy Kiss' has evolved into what today is called a hand shake.

Greetings are social customs or rituals to show attention or to confirm friendship or social status between individuals or groups of people meeting each other. Greeting habits are highly culture- and situation-specific and may change within a culture depending on social status.

Interesting point, but what exactly constitutes a holy kiss is somewhat subjective. As long as they engage in the concept of some kind of joyous sharing, which in my experience they do, they're following the dictation. So, this attack fails.

Actually many Christians do this while some settle for an embrace, the effect of joy is just the same though.

I wouldn't let ANYONE I hardly know kiss me, Christian, Buddhist, etc.! They could have Herpes or some other disease. Ugh. IMO, this kissing thing is taking the Bible too literally. How about a nice handshake, or elbow-rub, like "Monk"?
