As a Substance Abuse Counselor in a male prison, I can tell you that some people will go to ANY lengths to use drugs. Addiction is a disease of the brain-not a lack of morals, character or will power. When people abuse chemicals, it actually is the ADDICTION that is willing to go far. The person's will is no longer in charge. It is only when the addict turns their will and life over to the care of a Higher Power that the will of the disease is conquered.

Some would sell their mother, if they could.

I went through a bad spell with my teenage son. For about 4 months he used marijuana. He stole from me, his dad, his brother ... he would even sell things of value, that didn't belong to him. All of this for marijuana ... the drug that soooo many say is not harmful or addictive. I beg to differ. I can just imagine what some would do for "hard" drugs ........

BTW: After spending a lot of time with my son and taking him to AADAC ... my son is fully recovered, and back to his ol' self ... thank God.

A relative broke into houses for money, stole things from my grandma, let guys have sex with my cousin who was a teenager for drugs, had crappy boyfriends who beat her so that she could get drugs, prostituted herself.

A teacher's brother was killed for the quarter he was about to use in a telephone booth. That was all he had...a quarter.

It depends on how stupid they are. The fact that they DO drugs is an indication as to how bright they are. How FAR they will go to get them depends on how stupid AND addicted they are.

Good luck. Pops
