Yes I would and I have all ready served. I have also been to Iraq. And regardless of any possible valid point you might have I lost all interest in even reading it the moment you ascribed honor and pride to the status of junk.
I guess that is so easy to say when you value both so little (or in your case I imagine not at all) that you can discard it with out a second thought.
What do you use in place of honor? What ever it is it pales to the value and meaning of honor. And that doesn't apply to just honor in the military sense but in every sense.
To associate honor and pride as junk you must have forfeited yours long ago never to be recovered.

If i felt i wanted to support my country then yes i would join. Like the guy above me i can't because of a broken back, however soldiers arent leaving and not coming home like vietnam or ww2,ww1 so not sure what u meant about that. And people don't join for honor alone. Some see it as duty, honor and service to a country that allows us freedoms here that you would never see anywhere else. Have some pride in what we stand for as a nation not as a bi-partisan crying cicle that it has become.

the purely rational reason to affix the protection rigidity now, at a time of warfare is to serve your usa contained in the most NOBLE way a possibility, with the aid of risking your existence. for persons that do, I thanks. The question must be, what is going with the help of the minds of all those infantrymen in Iraq who joined the protection rigidity for a short dollar or an less costly education, under no circumstances wondering that we would want to be in yet another warfare. those infantrymen have the incorrect body of ideas and can want to get the persons who belong on the lines, holding our lifestyle, injured or killed.

It's not being misled. Do you realize that Saddam refused to let UN inspectors in for years and nobody enforced it? That he shot at one of the planes trying to do recon during that time period? That he gassed the Kurds? That people would be dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night and never seen again? That he'd kidnap women to be used until they were dead?
You're not "World's Greatest Hero". You're the World's Greatest Idiot".
I would be happy to join the military. I have health issues that preclude me. My husband is currently active duty Army.
If you were to go to a military base and conduct a poll - you'd find that most of those who've been to Iraq believe we should be there. Many who've been injured, fight to get well enough to return.
That tells me all that I need to know. I take THEIR word for it. Not the media's, not the politicians.

The war is not only in Iraq. I dont care were my country sends me. In war, any war for that matter, when is it a good time to join?
By the way, that "junk about honor and pride" is why we have soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen in the first place. Be glad someone is fighting and dying on your behalf.

nope I not go and a lot of people feel the same or recruiters would not have to lie to people in the recruiting stations saying "we do not need any more in Iraq
in fact we sending people home now".
When the real fact is we do not have enough people or why are some reservists are doing there fifth tours.
The real truth is to win this war we need to send a lot more like we did when we occupied japan and Germany but in Iraq we only sent 1/2 the number required.
why we just did not have the men required in the military.
solution sadly the only one is a draft

With the soldiers and marines behind and around me...I wouldn't worry at all...I would worry if I fell in their midst's, and left them in that much more danger. But I have no fear of the enemy because of the Men and women of the United States military. Pound for pound, there is NO greater fighting force in our world.

Yes-chances of coming back are pretty good I would say-less than 3,000 of soldiers died, that is bad, but a small number compared to how many we have sent and how many have died in other wars
