I moved to NJ last year from California and ive been here for a year now. I noticed that around Nov/Dec i start getting back aches. Can this be because of the cold weather? What can i do to treat it and prevent it?!

You hear this very often in older individuals but it can happen regardless of age. It can happen because of atmospheric pressure changes that affect the joints around the spine. It is also common if you have had an injury to the body part in which you feel it.The best thing to do is just to stay moving, dress warmly and exercise.

Yes, especially if your back has been previously injured or if you have arthritis. One of the best things for this is a product called "Bed Buddy". It is a bag sold in most drug stores for around $10 and it can be heated up in the microwave. Also, ibuprofen helps if it is not a serious injury. I have had 2 lumbar fusions and I have gone thru about 20 of the bed buddys. They do help alot. Just don't get them too hot.

If he has arthritis damp weather can make it act up, but it could also just be a coincidence, so better to get it checked by a doctor.

well i live in canada....and sometimes my back hurts if i have been really really cold for a long time. it's cuz your ab muscles are tightened for a long time. and that affects your back somehow. try using those back wrap things. they fit under your clothes so no one will know you're wearing one.

Try putting warm packs on your back to see if the aches minimizes.
