in the language and method that they are most comfortable with? is this the basic misunderstanding between different religions? Is it all the same stuff, just conveyed through different parables, stories, metaphor and deity.

Yes the Holy Spirit DOES speak to each person, in ways that THEY themselves can understand... each person is different.

You are right, and they are wrong! The Holy Spirit does speak to
everybody in his or her most comfortable language. He can use any language that you can understand most. The best example is the narration in Acts chapter 4:6-11
6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 7 Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”

I believe and have witnessed people in many countries who have evidence of being filled and inspired by the Holy Spirit in their native languages. That's the reason why the command of Jesus in Matthew 28 and Mark 16 is to go to every nation, kindred, tongue and people! If it is not so, He would have said, just go and teach those who can understand Hebrews or English or Arabics. And if they don't speak Hebrews or English, you must teach them first to speak it.
God was the one who created languages according to Genesis 11, and He can understand people praying in any language under the sun, otherwise He is not an Omniscient or All-knowing God.
One of my favourite songs is, It is no secret what God can do;
what He's done to others, He'll do for you.

Your second question is, Is this the basic misunderstanding between different religions? My answer is "no". The sole reason is because people do not want to stick to what the Bible says, and try to interpret it according to their understanding and what pleases them. Jesus says: if we want to do His will, then we will understand if any doctrin is from Him or not. Most people today do not get the outpouring of the real Holy Spirit because they depend on what their pastors, teachers or parents say, and not what the Word of God say. That's why He warns us in Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
The word "law" here was "Torah" in Hebrew, the original language, meaning the books of Moses as well as the ten commandments. And testimony means all the other books inspired by the Holy Spirit and written by His prophets and later, His apostles.
That's why after His resurrection when Jesus spoke to the two disciples who were on their way to Emmaus, the Bible says, Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. (Luke 24:25-27). I have been teaching the Bible in five different countries to 11 different people using 11 different languages. And everyone of them can understand and came to the same conclusion although they speak different languages, because I taught them following the example of Jesus. I taught them from the Word of God, not from human philosophies or commentaries.

Your third question is: Is it all the same stuff, just conveyed through different parables, stories, metaphor and deity.

My answer is No it cannot be the same stuff just conveyed through different parables, stories, metaphor and deity. The Bible clearly says that there is only ONE GOD, ONE FAITH AND ONE BAPTISM.

I truly believe that the Holy Spirit does speak to each of us. I think the fact that some people don't hear Him isn't that He isn't speaking to us - it's that we, like most children, aren't listening. We're too busy, or we don't like what we're hearing, or we think that WE know best. We are children after all.
I think "religion" is part of the problem. People have added arbitrary rules and regulations. They have decided that their demonination is best, and everyone else is wrong. With all that garbage between us and "Him", it's no wonder that we don't hear Him.
As for the last part of your question, there is only one God, the Father. He is the Alpha and Omega, and His Word, the Holy Bible is the only Word. The words, stories, parables in the Bible are the only true ones.

The Holy Spirit moves from within. It doesn't necessarily use words every time persay, but the individual who is a Christian knows what the Holy Spirit is saying to them. Praise the Lord!!

The Holy Spirit is the Paraclete, the Comforter, the Third Person of the Holy Trinity...

Unless this "Spirit" of yours is confessing Jesus Christ as the only-begotten Son of God....then you've got yourself "another spirit and another gospel".....
