Do women understand a mans sense of humour ?

I know that americans have difficulty understanding our english sense of humor..... But it has just dawned on me when in conversation with a girl that knows my humour so well or so I thought , competley missed what the joke was....

And it was a play on words for the idiots that are going to say that my joke wasnt nessisarily funny....So fairly basic stuff.....

Generally I would say yes. The American example has a lot to do with the two different cultures, but I don't think a person's gender has any bearing on humour.

Unless you're making jokes about a woman doing the washing up and getting back in the kitchen. That's not usually very good for big smiles.

I get my boyfriend's sense of humour. Sometimes I don't laugh though because our sense of humour is different. He's silly funny and I'm sarcastic funny. Most of the time I'm laughing at him because some of the things he finds funny amaze me. He hates my sense of humour.

I don't know about your friend/girlfriend. She might not have heard you properly... That's the only reason i can think of if its funny.

I understand my blokes sense of humour we're very similar in that respect. I also understand his friends sense of humour............but some blokes just as some girls do not make me laugh and I don't understand them.

I think it's a personality thing rather than a gender thing

I do, I have been told a have a male sence of humour. I have always been able to have a laugh (sence of humour wise) with guys better than with girls.

Some women do and some don't. but most women try not to because they feel if they understand it they will have to hear it often. don't worry they take a while to catch up on the humor part most women don't have any there fore they don't understand it.
