I hope you don't take this as being rude but be glad for having a mother and a father. Both of my parents were divorced and I had to chose whom to spend it with. Granted they lived really close to each other, but I couldn't spend the whole day with only one. Now my dad is gone and this will be my second Christmas without him. Count your blessings with what you have. Tell your parents how you feel and maybe next year they can make arrangements to be together at Christmas for you. I did that and one year they were together for Christmas for me. That was the best present I had in a long time.

You're not alone in how you're feeling cause there must be hundreds of people feeling the same. I split up with my girlfriend in June 2005 after ten years or more, although it was June, it gets me down more at Christmas because we started seeing each other at midnight on new years.I really miss her. losing her in the way I did has meant having no closure and caused me to have 3 major breakdowns the third of which I'm going through now, and because of the amount of sickness it looks likely that I'll lose my job this month too.
It's a shame really that there isn't a place where at Christmas all of us sad and lonely people can meet up , it would either be a night to remember or on the news as a cult mass suicide or something, anyway I'll be thinking of you, hope luck falls your way and you can break the cycle.
best wishes Grae

I don't hate Christmas because I believe the reason for the season is Jesus. But what I hate is all the shopping and stuff that isn't even the reason for the season, know what I mean. I don't really even care about having a tree and I certainly dislike the dragging through stores buying for people who have everything. I wish for a simple Christmas with more love and less gifts, less spending and less stress. I'm with you, but how to change things, I wish I knew.

I've always hated Christmas, ever since I was about 9 or 10. I don't know why. Everything about it drives me nuts. And the fact that most people love it makes it even worse.

I thought I would start liking it when I had kids, but I didn't.

Then I thought things would change when I had grandkids - but I still hate it.

I would give it up altogether and ignore it, but my kids won't let me. Sigh.

Good luck with your parents this year. Sounds really horrible for you. Hope it works out ok.
