In answer to how "evolution" has caused the things listed, all it takes a glance at the last hundred years of history.
If the only things involved in evolution with a scientific theory of how different animals came to be, no one would care about it. But too often evolution has carried with it a philosophical and ethical point of view. If man is nothing but "an aminal", then his moral responsiblites are much different then of he is a "unique creation of God".
If evolution is what improves man, then would not the world be better if all the "bad genes" were removed? Shouldn't "inferior" races like the Jews be executed? (That was Hitler's main agrument for the extreminating of 6 million of them). Shouldn't the poort be eliminated? Should criminals be taken out and buried in mass graves? Shouldn't minorities by restricted and sterilized so that only the "pure" races can continue? All of these are ideas that have been advanced by eugenics, the "science of good genes" that got its start from the idea of evolution.
The idea that man is nothing but an advanced ape has cheapened the value of life in the eyes of many people. And many (not all) of the things listed are direct results of that cheapening.
As long as life was a unique gift from God, then abortion was murder. As long as life was a unique gift from God, elder killing was wrong. As long as life was a unique gift from God, then abusing another person (woman, child, or whatever) was wrong.
As society has more and more accepted the idea that man is not a unique creation, so it has accepted the deaths, abuse, neglect, and more that is running more and more rampade in our society.
While the philosophy of godless evolution is not the ONLY cause ffor many of these things, it is a major contributor.

If you use the phrase "drunken Englishman", you are guilty of the poor taste of which you accuse others. Prove that elder killings and corruption in government did not precede Darwin. Even if we can't solve every mystery in the universe, that does not mean we shouldn't try. The Bible was the start, not the end. You don't have to belittle yourself if you are just small.
And why seest thou the mote in thy brother's eye: but the beam that is in thy own eye thou considerest not?

Oh, that's funny. You say it's in poor taste, and then belittle the spirituality of a group of people. Did you ever think that the concept of evolution might be some people's spirituality? The belief that humanity is constantly striving to a higher state of consciousness, and that eventually they shall ascend their mortal coil? Ever think of that? No. You think that just because it's science, it can't be at all spiritual, and therefore anyone who follows it is just a fuddy duddy with no imagination. Right.
Everyone's so short sighted, whether they're atheist, christian, and some even agnostic. For those of us who look at a bigger picture, and attempt to avoid judging (notice I didn't say "avoid judging" : even this rant is a judgement, and I acknowledge that), we'll just be pointing out the logical inconsistencies and hypocrisys of all of these wittle posts.
To be fair, I try not to pick on theists vs. non-theists. I usually respond with something along the lines of "Well, people don't agree with you and you can't make a rational proof to make them agree" for the theists, and something along the lines of "you're extrapolating more from the data than you've presented" from the non-theists.

Quote: "A little more respect or are you acting like the drunken Englishman ,Darwin?"
Look what fundamentalist religion has created - deranged evil bigots like you. By the way, did you know that, per head of population, abortions are highest in the most religious western country (USA) and highest in the most religious parts of that country? hmmm....

that's some rant you got going on there. Okay, addressing your questions in order:
1 no, not acting like Darwin, don't know the guy.
2 belittling ourselves keeps us humble.
Hmmmmm...no, now that I read it again, it's really not much of a rant at all. Lacks focus. Good luck.

Wow. Evolution is responsible for all those things? Child abuse? Elder killings?! I'm pretty sure you know nothing about evolution, or anything else for that matter. The Bible promotes slavery, the stoning of children, and mass genocide...all for the sake of some megalomaniac from the sky. I think I'll stick with evolution.

Take your stupid nose out of your Bible. Evolution has nothing to do with any of those topics - other than evolving your pea sized brain to the point of making such stupid statements.
Why do you insist on enduring the myth of Darwin as a drunk Englishman? The writers of your Bible were Goat herding cave dwelling LSD consumers....but you dont see me insulting your beleifs...
Phucking hypocrites!

More people in america believe in creation than evolution, surely by your logic its creation theory that should be held responsible for all the abortions, child abuse etc. in the country not evolution.

Why would you think that lying about evolution would do you or anyone else any good?
Right after asking "why belittle ourselves?", you say things that strongly suggest that your religion is simply dishonest. So...why did you belittle yourself? Why not act honestly, and in an adult manner, instead?

Your question is a bit offensive. I'm a Christian and do not believe in evolution either.
Sometimes we are guilty of the same thing that we are accusing others of.
But maybe I misundestand your tactics.
