Hey guys. I wrote a question earlier asking what to do about my cat limping...that was before I checked on her today. Everyone told me to take her to the vet, and finally I gave in and called the vet. As I went outside to find her and get her in her carrier, we found her curled up next to our boat and pretty much fading fast. I'm totally heartbroken, and after calling the vet, he pretty much said chances are she was hit by a car. She passed away today at noon at home...the vet pretty much gave us the option. I'd love to have Rainbow Bridge to remember her. Thanks in advance and thanks for all the help with my question earlier, and the support with my question about pet-parent bashing.

it says it has the words set to music, I'm at work so can't check that out for you, sorry for your loss.

Here are the words

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I know exactly how your feeling. My 6 year old cat Meeka was hit by a car 7 weeks ago. By the time I found him on our driveway and got him to our vet he died.
I've been totally devastated since but my other cat Compo seems really lonely. I've not let him out of the house since. I'm gonna wait until after Christmas and then get another one.

You've gotta remember all the good things they do to make you laugh. I forgot for a while but it gets easier every day.
Good luck and my thoughts are with you.

Sorry i've no info on the Rainbow Bridge for you.

I don't know the answer to your question either, but my heart goes out to you and your loss. I have buried eight great friends who never asked me for anything more than a place to lay down and food to eat. They all with one exception were trained field trial dogs and they took me to many wonderful places across the USA. and they introduced me to some really wonderful people. I remember each one. The most special of the group was the exception. She was found as a puppy wandering the streets and became a very special member of our family.

I don't know about the poem. You might try googling it.
I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you. I recently lost one of my cats, to complications of a long term disease, so I share the pain of your loss.
I know it's not much help now, just remember that you loved her and cared for her, and that she was safe and happy in your care. She will live forever in your heart.
Don't rush into getting another cat, until you're ready. I'm sure you'll get advice to rush out and get another one from some. When you're ready, you'll know.

Oh my gosh, i am sooo sorry about your kitty. I know how sad you must be. I don't have a copy of Rainbow Bridge but i see it in book stores all the time. Check both Books-A-Million and Barnes and Nobles, i have seen it in both of those stores. Best of luck to you.

Oh my god I just answered your other question and was looking to see the comments you were referring to, and saw this!
I'm so sorry to hear about her dying - you must be so upset, but remember you did everything you could for her and at least she had some love in her life at the end. Take care.
