Never ever use halls or losenges when you have a throat infection.
I once had a doctor tell me that it serves as something the bacteria can cling to...
Best thing you can do, if you cant go see the doctor is gargle with salt water 4 to 5 times a day and take advil or something to help with the swelling.
I've had it, it's not fun. If you can, go see a doctor though... it may not be tonsillitis, could be strep throat or mono...symptoms are similar for all three.
Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

You really should go to a doctor and if the host mom won't let you stay home when you're sick you should probably talk to those in charge of the program to get somebody nicer. But, in the meantime, gargling salt water can help kill bacteria in your throat. Drinking hot things (non-dairy though, since that will coat your throat) can make the pain feel better.

Use some chloraseptic spray to help numb your throat. You could just have a sore throat. If it continues and gets worse, you really need to see a doctor.
If she refuses, I don't know what you can do other than call child health services? But that may cause some severe issues at home (if you dont already have them).
Try talking to her about how you are feeling, maybe she just thinks you are faking it to stay home from school. A lot of kids pretend to be sick so they can get out of school, so its possible thats all she thinks is going on here.

try never get rid of tonsillitis. Because they act as guards to stop entering bacteria into your chest results in chest inefction which is more serious problem. Tonsillitis is good but upto some limit. when you brush teeth every try to gargle with tooth paste. Moreover try to take long course of homeopathic medicin. It will natuarally reduce the sise of your toscilitis. It is much better then using antibiotic medicine. Good Luck!

If you are 90-100 lbs or more, take two aspirin every 4 hours. Tonsillitis is not critical, just uncomfortable.
If they have hydrogen peroxide, swish your mouth with it and brush your teeth with it. This will help in healing your throat.
These two things will make you feel better.
My daughter had tonsillitis once every year, it is considered chronic and not all that serious.

Have ice cream or gargle with salt water. Some say that helps. It'll have to run it's course.
