I would recommend Natural Choice Large Breed Puppy. This food can be found at your local pet store. It is made from natural products and does not include ingredients that can commonly cause allergic reactions in dogs.
Add to this that it is guaranteed to improve your dog's skin and coat, and it is a wonderful food. Also, since it is designed specifically for large breed puppies, it will have the specific vitamins that a growing large dog needs! This will be very important to keep your pup healthy and happy!

If the Great Dane pup could choose it's diet I'm sure it would include the couch, boots, chair legs, pillows and mostly likely the remote control.
Large breeds grow then fill out until they're three years old and they need a good diet to maintain their bodies on this journey.
Read the labels on the puppy food bags and I'm sure it will provide a recommendations on how much to feed a larger breed dog like the Dane. Pups need extra calcium for bone development etc, so don't skimp on the better/more expensive puppy chow at this stage of things.
Please remember that big puppies can cause big problems and major damage so don't become frustrated when the back seat of your car is ripped to shreds while you ran into the drugstore for just a minute. The shelters and pounds are loaded with year old large breeds because the owners have just given up and are sick and tired of having their houses destroyed. I strongly recommend crating dogs to protect the house and protect the dog when you go crazy because the Christmas tree was knocked down and reduced to toothpicks.
A Great Dane dog crate new can cost up to and beyond $200 but I got one at a garage sale for $25.
Good luck.

Low protein DOG FOOD, not puppy food. The breeder I got my puppy from used Biljac select. I have changed it. Science Diet is a good choice and so is Nutro. I use Kirklands Lamb and Rice from Costco. My vet was impressed with it, First two ingreds are Lamb and Lamb meal. It also has brown rice, and NO corn or wheat. Runs Around $20 a (40lb) bag.
You don't want your puppy growing too fast!
Good Luck! Great Danes are Great!!

I am not a vet, however, I do have a 3 mo old Akita pup, so I would suggest puppy chow, it has a lot of nutrients and things that are good for a growing pup. And it has a chart on the back of the bag to show you how much you should feed your dog. Also this was the choice of food that my vet suggested.

You need to feed it either a formula for large breed puppies, or something very high quality, like the foods from http://www.frrco.com/121668
It is very important to have the right food for a large breed puppy to try and prevent joint and bone problems, things like hip displasia...

Ifyou want to slow the growth of you giant breed dog keep feeding it puppy food. If you want it to keep growing longer feed it giant breed dog food. Depending on where you live, sometimes its hard to find.

I would give it Wolf Cub puppy food. It is expensive, but it helps them get all the nutrition they need.
