"For me and the Father are one and the same" - Jesus. I am not religious. This is simply a question. It would seem that when one reaches complete consciousness, the truth is revealed that "we are God", or "God-connected". There have been many Masters throughout our history, surely there must have been others who taught this truth. Do you know of any who so boldly professed it? I'm not talking about the general "we are one, we are god" teaching. I'm talking about a man, telling others that he is God - in an effort to teach them the grandest truth. Ken Wilber discusses how this is the inevitable evolution of Who We Are. That once we reach complete consciousness, we have no choice but to call ourselves God. I'm paraphrasing a discussion he had with another scholar.

I swear this question has been asked before. I do not believe that the quote mentioned above is supposed to "prove" that Jesus said he was god. In fact, Jesus denied being god several times, calling himself the 'son of man'. In the earliest days of christianity (within the 1st century) most people did NOT believe Jesus was anything more than a man - a great and holy man, even the promised messiah; but not a god...that came later. Remember, Jesus was a Jew, and they believed in the One God. Jesus was trying to say that his WORDS were from god, not that he was. Also, we have no real way of knowing how accurate this quote is considering it was written down several decades (at the earliest) after jesus lived.

Beware!

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

Luke 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
