Well Bob, I can see you have a brain. I bet the food companies wish that everyone did, maybe then they wouldn't have to put instructions and warnings on everything.
There was a case not too long ago where a woman ordered a cup of coffee. She got the coffee in one of those paper cups that most places use. She then spilled it on herself and took them to court. She won a ton of cash because the cup did not have a warning on it explaining the contents were hot. As if she wanted cold coffee! That's why those ridiculous warnings and instructions are everywhere - to stop idiots from suing!

Bob-
Its because a lot of people simply have no clue what they are doing in the kitchen. It marvels me that pasta comes with instructions how to cook it. However, keep in mind that somewhere everyday, someone is cooking pasta for the first time.

I agree with you, but at the same time know that some people are so lame in the kitchen they need instructions for everything. You know that some people cook turkey with the gibblets still inside because turkey generally doesn't have instructions?

You are right....they just supply them for the people who would really have no clue in how to prepare it. Though, I like to stick to the packaging...I don't know why, just feel more content if i follow the instructions exactly.

Did you know what you were doing the first time you prepared something, or did you have to read the directions?
Do you know how to put something together without the instructions?

Although we are not daft, there are many people who are and who will blame the manufacturer for an inferior product if they don't prepare it properly. For example, adding water but not boiling water.

It's so you don't sue them if it doesn't turn out the way it's supposed to. And do bear in mind that there are some completely impractical people out there who have no common sense whatsoever!
